At St. Paul, children are welcome! They stay with us during worship and embraced as part of the body of Christ. Families with children are welcome to visit Christ Cubby, found behind the last row of pews. Each child can take a worship bag with them back to their seats and return them to Christ Cubby after worship. Children from the congregation will have their name on each bag. There are also specially age-appropriate marked bags for children who are visiting. The worship bags include resources related to worship as well as activities for busy minds and hands. There are also age-appropriate weekly bulletins and sticker sheets available in trays on top of the cubby area.
Children are also welcome to stay in the Christ Cubby area accompanied by a parent if they prefer during worship to use the toys or read the books and Bibles found there. Each week, Rosita (a puppet) gives a message called the Taking Faith Home message. It is based on an insert found in the worship bulletin each week that is for weekly devotions in the home using scripture lessons from that day. The message is just before the benediction each week. At that time, children are welcome to go forward to the front pews to listen to and see Rosita more closely. After the message, there is always a special resource or treat for the children to take home.
What’s in the bag? Resources for prayer, scripture, and more are found in each child’s individual bag with different ways to be involved during worship.
